Hamilton-Thompson Masonic Lodge No. 37 – 2023
This well know 1910 landmark on the main street of Purcellville was originally an Episcopal Church. It’s unique architecture has been described as Norwegian Gothic. The lodge aims to work on the building envelope to further preserve the structure.
Hillsboro Preservation Foundation – 2023
The purpose of this project is to celebrate the historic farms of western Loudoun that continue to keep their land in active agricultural use or have put the land in to conservation easement. While the goal ultimately will be for 30 markers at $2,500 each, this will use a phased approach, beginning with ten markers about the historic town of Hillsboro. These markers will each have a QR code linked to additional information (more than the marker contains) on the Hillsboro Preservation Foundation’s website.
The Friends of the Grace Multicultural Center – 2023
Project to replace some of the windows.
The Waterford Foundation – 2022
Project: to help preserve its restoration and interpretation efforts of the Bond Street Tanyard meadow and its barn structure adjacent to the historic John Wesley Church and the Waterford Mill.
Virginia Piedmont Heritage Area Association – 2022
Project: Print an updated version of the Historic Loudoun Scavenger Hunt booklet to be distributed to students as part of VPHAA educatonal program with local schools as well as being placed in libraries and at historic sites.
Philomont Village Foundation – 2022
Project: For use to seek National and Virginia Historic Register status for the village.
Morven Park (Leesburg) – 2022
Project: Preservation and documentation of 3 significant outbuildings. Using photogrammetry to create rectified scaled images of each building’s exterior wall to be used to understand masonry construction of the walls.
Luckett’s Ruritan for Mount Pleasant Church at Scattersville – 2022
Project: Engineering Study to determine the preservation needs for the 19th century clapboard Mount Pleasant Church at Scattersville.
Loudoun Clerk of the Court – 2022
Project: Further digitization of court records from medical register of Loudoun doctors from 1901 to 1980 and coroner’s records from 1757 to 1968.
